Discover catchy songs · Ten Minutes · Weekly (Monday mornings) · Add the ones you love to your streaming playlists · Rock out all week · Repeat

I’m Mike McCready and I make music discovery fast, fun, and catchy because I only play the hooks, (you know, the catchy parts) of the songs I feature. You’ll know our podcast host/listener relationship is a success if you come away each week with a new song or two playing on repeat in your headphones.

After each episode, head over to https://hookblast.com/category/playlists to hear the full versions of many of the songs you hear on the show. You’ll find our playlists (Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, YouTube) not only for the songs on this show but also playlists for some of the catchiest songs selected for you from the current the pop and country charts.

My day job is as the co-founder and CEO of Music Xray, the online platform that uses a combination of music analysis software, machine learning, and the crowd-sourcing of industry professionals themselves to identify high potential songs and talent.. The Hookblast Podcast uses Music Xray to find and feature catchy songs in the genres of pop, rock, adult contemporary, country, and urban. If you or someone you know would like to submit a song for consideration to the podcast, you can do that here: https://www.musicxray.com/interactions/65626/submissions/new

My 25-year career in the music industry has largely been dedicated to improving how the industry identifies high potential songs and talent. I was behind Hit Song Science in the early 2000’s and now, as co-founder and CEO of Music Xray I continue to harness new technologies to create more opportunities for artists and to help the industry find the needles in the haystack.

My work in the field has been featured in all the major newspapers and magazines, and was the focus of one of the most popular Harvard Business School case studies of all time, Polyphonic: Mixing Math & Music by Anita Elberse et. al. My work has been featured in documentaries by NatGeo, BBC, and Discovery Channel among many others.
