Hey this is Mike McCready, your host on episode 58 of The Hookblast Podcast and I’m just happy to be nominated. Today’s TikTok dancer is Sofi Marrero and you can check out her moves by watching the video version of this show on YouTube or on our website, Hookblast.com. That’s also where you vote for the song you like best today. Two weeks ago, on episode 56, the song with the most votes was Bright Side by Rizzy Myers.

OK. I’m feeling a little upset today…. it’s been a rough stretch recently. I found out today from 23andMe that I am more Neanderthal than 94% of their other customers. I don’t know how but I even got more Neanderthal than my sister. I don’t know how that even happens?  Fortunately, though, according to Ancestry.com we don’t seem to have any slave owners in our family history… which is a relief.

And for the record, because of what’s being said… my grandpa wasn’t racist….  his parrot was.

OK. Let’s play some hooks.

This is a feel-good rock and roll song that Planet of Rhythm added to their Saddleback Sally album at the last minute.  Hahahahaha ok.  maybe I’ll lighten the mood with a joke…..  ok… why did the communist wait to cross the road at the last minute?  hahahahaha…..  cuz he was Stalin.  hahaha  Get it? He was Stalin.  hahaha
This is Ripped Jeans and Blonde Hair.

That’s Ripped Jeans and Blonde Hair by Planet Of Rhythm.
Up next we have a song about a relationship. And that’s a pretty generic description. Maybe it’s a relationship involving an indecent proposal. The band is called ChaseThatMoney. The song is called Your Everything.

That’s Your Everything.

OK.  I used to keep this podcast politics-free. I still do, but I used to too. Songs only make it into the show if they’re catchy and have great hooks, and that’s the case with this next song by Kidavelly (Kid-A-Velly). This song is called Donald Trump Jr.

Coming up next is Ceeveejane’s (CVJane)’s song, I Want Your Kisses, which is what I said to my sister that got me sent to reform school. Nevermind that it was right after trick-or-treating on Halloween. I didn’t deserve that.  Lesson learned.  Always say Hershey’s.
Anyway, this is an upbeat country song that CeeVee Jane wrote for her husband’s birthday. Awww… that’s romantic.

You find can more music like that at ceeveejanemusic.com and you can find that link in today’s show notes.
Last up on today’s show, is a song John Thayer wrote after a near-break-up and his desire to regain some of his self-respect by asking the question, do you believe in me. I know something about that. I knew it was time to do something about my self-esteem when I realized that even in the shower I’d been singing back-up vocals.

When you’re not feeling a lot of self confidence, you doubt everything. And it’s almost impossible to make a good first impression.  I remember the first time my wife saw me naked, I was so nervous! I was worried she was just going to scream and run out of the park.

OK. That’s all the time we have for episode 58 of The Hookblast Podcast. All songs are used with the permission of the rights holders. Please share this episode with your friends and I’ll catch you right back here next time with a fresh batch of new hooks.  Bye bye.
