Hey this is Mike McCready, your host on episode 62 of The Hookblast Podcast, the new number one trending podcast in all of Brazil this week.  Thank you Brazil…  and as a thank you I wanted to say…. Obrigado, Brasil, por fazer do Hookblast Podcast o podcast número um no Brasil. Não se esqueça, eu sou o melhor apresentador de podcast na história dos apresentadores de podcast.

B-but I don’t really speak Portuguese, so how about some Pig Latin? AnkyouTHey RazilBey orFey akingMay the ookblastHey oddcastPey umberNey unWay.

Ok.  That’s something we can all get behind.OK. Now that spring is here, it seems like we might get back to some kind of normal life this year. All this has me feeling a lot more upbeat lately. And I got another ego boost this morning when I went outside and saw someone left a little note on my windshield that said, “Parking Fine”.  Sure, alright, I’ll take the compliment, whoever you are, but if you ask me, my parking was more than fine! It was outstanding!!! Right?[motions a high five to no one]Sometimes I forget there’s no one to high-five me here.

Anyway, this is the podcast where we discover a few new catchy songs. I only play the hooks, and you know the rest and you could probably say it with me.  You can navigate to episode 62 at hookblast.com where you go to vote for the song you like best today. Two episodes ago, the song with the most votes was It’s My Time by Roger Jaeger.
OK. Let’s play some hooks!

First up, we have a song by LA-based artist, Elodie Rêverie. She says it’s a great song to put on during a scenic night drive through the city…. or while taking a bubble bath. The other night our neighbors all rocked out to this song….  you know… whether they wanted to or not.
This is Under The Radar.

That’s Under The Radar. Elodie says she wrote it during quarantine in Los Angeles.

Lipbone Redding says it’s tough being a musician on the road while wanting to have a relationship. But sometimes you find someone who is willing to work on your terms and you’re motivated to work on theirs.   My wife has always said, relationships are like unhealthy people. Most of them don’t work out.  So, yeah… as a precaution, I got us duel gym memberships. This is Ready, Set, Go.

If you enjoyed that, you’ll like Allman Brothers and Todd Snider.

If you like the feeling of driving down the freeway in an open top roadster, this next song is for you. I know it made me feel great this weekend when I had the wind blowing in my face, picking up speed… just me and the open… driveway on my little John Deer.

Anyway, this song is about being the underdog but knowing you’ve got what it takes to come out on top.  Like, if you ever get into an argument with your spouse, there are two strategies for winning… I’ve heard.  Can someone please send them? This is The Frankie Paul Band with My Day Will Come.

Next up on todays’ show is Let Me by Kristopher Desean

That’s a song about the battle with one’s inner demons. I-I know something about that. I struggled with steroid addiction. I-it made me stronger.

OK. This next song has seen some recent success. It’s been on Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix and was used in a youtube tutorial video for Apple Music. This is BabeWave with Good Times.

All songs on the podcast are available for license deals and other uses. They’re all used here with written permission from the rights holders. That’s all the time we have for episode 62 of The Hookblast Podcast. Please share the podcast with someone you know who can use a few new catchy songs in their life, and I’ll catch you right back here next week with a fresh batch of new hooks.  Bye bye
